So.....How old is Savannah?

Well here is one answer; I was watching Georgia public television and saw a story about a canal that was built in 1826 and how you can still see parts of it today as it meanders through the forest and side streets of modern day Savannah. Old bricks and wood beams still can be seen in certain spots. I found one such spot and took a few pictures. So here is a look at something that was built 35 years before the civil war.......

This is one of the Locks that controlled water flow....

Preserved by this water trough is one of the original wood beams..

This is just my truck sitting on the other side of a gazebo......

And by the way the City of Savannah was established in 1733 and was the colonial capital of the Province of Georgia; it was also the first capital of Georgia. Now your know and knowing is half the battle.
